RABAT, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- Nigeria managed to top their Group on Tuesday following a 3-1 score against Uganda, qualifying for the 8th round of the African Cup of Nations with maximum points, in a thrilling match held at Fez Stadium.
Nigeria's Paul Onuachu opened the score in the 23rd minute, putting his team in the lead, meanwhile Raphael Onyedika helped extend that lead in the 62nd minute and shortly after in the 67th minute, keeping his team ahead with a three-goal difference until the 75th minute, when Uganda's Rogers Mato scored.
This win kept Nigeria ahead in their group, which included Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda, with 9-points, confidently qualifying to the 8th round of the 2025 African Cup of Nations. (end)
