Egypt, UAE eye deeper trade, investment bonds

CAIRO, Dec 29 (KUNA) -- Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan Al-Khatib and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani Al-Zeyoudi on Monday discussed how to develop bilateral economic and trade relations.
This came during a meeting held in Cairo in the presence of several officials from both sides, which focused on trade and investment relations between Cairo and Abdu Dhabi, the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
During the meeting, Al-Khatib commended Egyptian-UAE historical and fraternal relations, along with continued development of ties across all levels.
He added that this meeting comes as a completion of an earnest coordinative track that reflects both sides' mutual commitment to attaining mutual interests based on partnership and integration.
He elaborated that the meeting had focused on several key points involving digital commerce and service trade, pointing out Egypt's absolute support for all efforts to draw investment and improve the business environment.
Fir his part, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani Al-Zeyoudi restated his country's eagerness to bolster the economic partnership with Egypt in a way that serves both countries' mutual interests and boosts their economic competitiveness regionally and internationally.
He hoped that bilateral talks would contribute to opening new horizons of trade and investment cooperation and promoting the involvement of both sides' private sectors within a framework of transparency and economic integration. (end) ism.mt
