Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union backs efforts to restore Yemen's stability

ALGIERS, Dec 29 (KUNA) -- The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) said on Monday it is closely following efforts and initiatives to strengthen security and stability in Yemen, underlining the importance of lasting peace and Yemen's unity and sovereignty.
In a statement, the AIPU emphasized the importance of coordinated regional and international action to create conditions for de-escalation and a political environment based on dialogue and understanding, to overcome current challenges and support a political solution that puts Yemen and its people first.
The AIPU commended constructive regional efforts led by Arab countries and their joint work to maintain calm and advance the political process toward a comprehensive, sustainable settlement that brings security, stability, and prosperity to Yemen. (end) mr.lr
