Security operation kills 4 'terrorists' in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Dec 28 (KUNA) - An operation by security forces killed at least four "terrorists" in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province bordering Afghanistan, said the military on Sunday.
According to a press release by Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan, on reported presence of "terrorists".
During the conduct of the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists' location, and after an intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed, confirmed ISPR. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, it added.
Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign by security forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the military added.
President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for conducting a successful intelligence-based operation against terrorists in Kalat.
In their separate statements, they expressed the government's resolve to purge Pakistan of all kinds of terrorism. The operation comes a day after at least four militants were killed by security forces in an operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan province.
Pakistan is witnessing a rise in terror attacks especially in KPK and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end) sbk.seo
