TUNIS, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Libya's Interior Ministry said that the black box which was recovered from wreckage of the doomed aircraft in Turkiye will be transferred to Germany to ensure a thorough technical assessment.
The doomed aircraft was en route from Ankara to Tripoli with Chief of Staff of the Libyan army Gen. Mohammad Ali Al-Haddad and four members of his delegation on board when it crashed in Ankara province, central Turkiye, on Tuesday night. They were killed along with the three crewmembers.
In a statement on Friday, the Libyan Interior Ministry said the Turkish Public Prosecution pledged full cooperation, providing documents and CCTV footage.
Tripoli's criminal police have also sent DNA samples of victims' relatives to Turkish authorities to confirm identities.
The aircraft's black box includes the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, and in Germany, such devices are typically analyzed by the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU) in Braunschweig.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered condolences to Tripoli Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Al-Dbeibah, and an interim successor was appointed.
Turkish authorities are expected to complete the investigation before repatriating the bodies to Libya for official and military funerals. (end)
