Death toll rises to eight from mosque blast in Syria

AMMAN, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Casualties topped eight deaths and 18 injuries from the explosion that hit at Al-Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib Mosque in the Valley of Gold district, Homs governorate, central western Syria, on Friday.
This is an initial death toll as several injured persons are in serious condition at the nearby Karam Al-Louz Hospital, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported, citing medical sources.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the explosion was caused by explosive devices planted inside the mosque, security sources told SANA. (pickup previous) maa.gb
