Pakistan extends airspace closure for India till Jan 23

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17 (KUNA) -- Pakistan extended the closure of its airspace for Indian aircrafts for another month until January 23, 2026.
A Notam (notice to airmen), issued by Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) on Wednesday, said the restriction will remain in effect from today and applies to all Indian-owned, operated and leased aircraft, including military flights. The decision continues with an existing restriction that has already been in place for the past eight months.
The Notam is applied on both Pakistani flight information regions Karachi and Lahore. The extension was notified a week before the previous one was set to expire on December 24. Earlier in April, India and Pakistan closed their airspace to each other's airlines after tensions rose between the two neighboring countries following an attack on the Indian side of Kashmir killing around 26 people.
