BRUSSELS, Dec 16 (KUNA) -- The annual inflation rate in the euro area stood stable at 2.1 percent in November 2025, unchanged from October, compared with 2.2 percent in the same period last year, according to fficial data released by the European statistical office (Eurostat).
Eurostat said in a report on Wednesday that annual inflation in the European Union recorded 2.4 percent in November 2025, down from 2.5 percent in October, compared with 2.5 percent a year earlier.
The lowest annual inflation rates were registered in Cyprus at 0.1 percent, followed by France at 0.8 percent and Italy at 1.1 percent, while the highest rates were recorded in Romania at 8.6 percent, followed by Estonia at 4.7 percent and Croatia at 4.3 percent.
Compared with October 2025, annual inflation fell in 12 Member States, remained stable in five, and rose in ten other Member States.
The services sector recorded the highest contribution to the annual inflation rate in November at 1.58 percent, followed by food, tobacco and alcohol at 0.46 percent, then non-energy industrial goods at 0.14 percent, while the energy sector recorded a negative contribution of minus 0.04 percent.
The initial estimate issued by Eurostat had indicated that the annual inflation rate in the single currency area rose in November to 2.2 percent, moving away from the European Central Bankآ’s target of 2 percent. (end)
