KUWAIT, Dec 16 (KUNA) -- Minister of Health Ahmad Al-Awadhi affirmed keenness on strengthening cooperation with the United Kingdom in field of healthcare to serve the interests of citizens.
During his meeting with UK trade Envoy to Jordan, Kuwait and Palestine Lord Iain McNicol on Tuesday, Dr. Al-Awadhi reaffirmed the need of enhancing the strategic partnership under the MoU on cooperation.
The document was signed by the Ministry of Health and Healthcare UK - a joint initiative between the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), during the 22nd UK-Kuwait Joint Steering Group (JSG), held in London on last October 23, the ministry said in a press release.
The minister loaded the growing cooperation with the UK in all areas, notably the health sector.
On his part, Lord Iain McNicol said that the strong partnership between both countries bore fruit and produced tangible results in the field of healthcare.
The meeting reviewed the prospects of benefiting from the long experiences of the UK in such areas as capacity building programs related to nursing staff, the management of health facilities, the development of the pharmaceutical industry, and medical research, the statement added. (end)
