Director of the department, by assignment, Dhirar Al-Ali, told KUNA on Friday that the country had been affected in recent days by a weather system accompanied by a deep upper-air trough, which led to rainfall, at times thunderous and of varying intensity across several areas, continuing through Thursday.
Al-Ali added that readings from the department's automatic weather stations showed differing rainfall amounts, with Al-Abdali recording the highest at 24.3 mm, followed by Al-Rabiya at 10.9 mm and Al-Abraq Farm at 10.1 mm.
He noted that rainfall totals reached 9 mm in Ras Al-Salmiya, 8.4 mm at Kuwait International Airport, and 8.3 mm in Al-Wafra, while Al-Jahra recorded the least amount at 5.4 mm. (end)
