Min. Al-Mashaan: Kuwait, China sign Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port contract in Dec.

KUWAIT, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- The executive contract to complete the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port will be signed this month with the Chinese government company affiliated with the China's Ministry of Transportation, said Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan on Thursday.
A statement by the Ministry revealed Dr. Al-Mashaan's announcement came during her chairing of the 38th meeting of ministerial committee tasked with following up on Kuwait's major projects, including deals signed between Kuwait and other nations.
The ministry noted that the meeting touched on other projects, including the national power grid and the development of renewable and green energy infrastructures.
It added that the meeting covered cooperation in recycling, housing projects, sanitation, free trade, and countering desertification.
The statement cited Minister Al-Mashaan as saying that contracts for major projects in the country will be signed soon after proper procedures were taken by government and auditing entities.
For his part, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs and Secretary of the Ministerial Committee, Ambassador Sameeh Hayat, affirmed that the upcoming period will witness the implementation of various deals signed by Kuwait and other countries, including China.
He stressed that Kuwait will continue to speed up the previous of development efforts as major international companies continue to express interest in the country's plans.
Attending the ministerial meeting were Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abullatif Al-Meshari, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Chief of the Administration of Fatwa and Legislations, Salah Al-Majed, Ambassador Hayat, and other officials from the ministries of Public Works, Defense, and Foreign Affairs.
