EU foreign policy chief calls for building European military capabilities swiftly

BRUSSELS, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, affirmed on Thursday the urgent need to accelerate strengthening European military capabilities, stressing that supporting European defense and assisting Ukraine "are not separate tracks; they are mutually reinforcing priorities." Kallas said, in a post on X, "We need to build up European military capabilities swiftly," noting that both priorities reinforce each other in the current challenging context.
She added that today's call with defense ministers from France, Germany, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom underscored "our shared determination to move forward on both." (end) arn.gta
