KUWAIT, Dec 10 (KUNA) -- The Central Bank of Kuwait held a ceremony Wednesday honoring winners of the 2024 Kuwaiti Economics Student Award, under the patronage and attendance of CBK Governor Basel Al-Haroon and senior banking officials.
The Governor affirmed the Bank's commitment to supporting national talent and promoting scientific research in economic and banking fields. He said the award encourages young Kuwaitis to develop research skills grounded in rigorous academic standards across economic and financial disciplines.
Institute of Banking Studies Director General Rana Al-Nibari said the award forms a key pillar of the CBK's "Kafa'a" initiative to develop national capabilities, noting the submission of 26 research papers reflecting promising analysis of contemporary economic and financial issues.
First place went to Salem Al-Shehab for a study on predicting bank stability; second to Mohammad Al-Doub for research on narrative alignment in earnings communications; third to Dalal Darwish on digital transformation. A special encouragement award was granted to Mubarak Al-Duaij. (end)
