ALGIERS, Dec 8 (KUNA) - Algeria's First President of the Supreme Court, Tahar Mamouni, and Kuwait's President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, Counsellor Dr. Adel Bouresli, signed on Monday a Memorandum of Understanding,
The MoU is aimed at strengthening judicial cooperation, exchanging expertise and benefiting from bilateral experiences.
In a statement to KUNA, Bouresli expressed gratitude for the warm reception by the Algerian side, praising his discussions with Mamouni and the briefing he received on the work and facilities of the Algerian Supreme Court.
He said the MoU will enhance continuous communication and the exchange of judicial expertise, reflecting the strong relations between the judicial institutions of both countries.
Bouresli underlined Kuwait's commitment to advancing the digital transformation of court services, improving the speed and accuracy of procedures, strengthening judicial performance and expediting appeals through the adoption of digital systems and artificial intelligence.
This visit comes in support of the distinguished relations that unite the two brotherly countries in the legal and judicial fields, and to discuss ways to develop and strengthen them, and to develop new plans to increase cooperation and coordination in the future, added Bouresli.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Public Prosecutor at the Algerian Supreme Court and senior judicial officials, along with the Kuwaiti delegation comprising President of the Court of Appeal Counsellor Mohammad Al-Rifai, Deputy President of the Court of Appeal Counsellor Waleed Al-Hamlan, Director of the Office of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council Abdulkarim Al-Qalloushi, and Kuwait's Acting Charge d'Affaires in Algeria Khaled Al-Zeer.
A delegation from Kuwait's Ministry of Justice, headed by Dr. Bouresli, is on an official visit to Algeria from December 7 to 10, 2025, as part of efforts to deepen cooperation between Kuwait's Supreme Judicial Council and Court of Cassation and Algeria's Supreme Court, the country's highest judicial authority.
