ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by a high-level delegation, arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a two-day official visit.
President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the visiting president on his arrival.
According to the Pakistan Foreign Office, the visit carries added significance as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.
During his stay, President Prabowo will hold delegation-level talks with the Prime Minister and meet President Asif Ali Zardari as well as the military leadership.
"The two sides will discuss a wide-ranging agenda aimed at further strengthening Pakistan-Indonesia relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation, including trade, investment, defense, health, IT, climate, education and culture, as well as enhancing collaboration at regional and global levels," said the Foreign Office.
Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit. The visit of President Prabowo will provide an important opportunity to deepen bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to the continued growth and diversification of the partnership between the two countries, the FO added.
