DOHA, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- The U-23 Gulf Cup kicked off in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Thursday, taking place from 4 to 16 December.
Yemen beat Iraq 2-1 in the opening fixture, while the UAE defeated Oman 2-0 in the second game earlier in the day.
Tomorrow (Friday) will see Kuwait's national football team face Qatar's counterpart in the first match, while the second game till take place between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, both held at Aspire Stadiums 1 and 2.
The eight-team football tournament is divided into two groups: Group A features Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait, while Group B includes Iraq, UAE, Oman and Yemen. (end)
