Kuwait Rep. at Arab League boasts of Kuwait's winning two awards

CAIRO, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait Permanent Representative at the Arab League Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi on Thursday expressed pride after two leading Kuwaiti entities, Sahel and Nazaha, won two awards, part of the Arab Government Excellence Award.
The award allocation has been coordinated by the Arab League with the United Arab Emirates.
Ambassador Al-Mutairi said in a statement to KUNA after partaking in the honoring ceremony during which he handed over the awards to the winners that the winning by Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) for the best Arab initiative for overhauling government tasks came as an affirmation of Kuwait's leading role in boosting integrity, transparency and accountability.
Nazaha is a successful Arab example to follow in establishing "a clean administrative environment," Ambassador Al-Mutairi said. Crowning the Ministry of Communications with the government excellence award for electronic services for Sahel application mirrors success of the Kuwaiti experience in digital transformation, he added.
The State of Kuwait has won two awards, subsidiaries of the Arab Government Excellence Award -- the fourth edition.
The winners were honored, earlier today, at the Arab League Secretariat General's headquarters, with attendance of Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul-Gheit and Mohammad Al-Gerqawi, the president of the board of trustees of the UAE award.
Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) won half of the award of the top initiative for overhauling government tasks. The other half was earned by an Egyptian information association.
The Kuwaiti ministry of communications was also honored for Sahel application.
The award shields were handed over by the State of Kuwait Permanent Representative at the Arab League, Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the honored entities.
Meanwhile in Kuwait, Nazaha released a statement affirming that it earned the award due to the support from the political leadership, exerted efforts by the government and private institutions in the national strategy for combating corruption.
The prestigious award was sponsored by the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Governor Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, in cooperation with the Arab League Secretariat General in the category, "the best Arab initiative for overhauling government tasks." This achievement, Nazaha has added, comes at a time it is working with national authorities to prepare the "new strategic framework post 2025 for boosting integrity and combating corruption in Kuwait."
