MANAMA, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- The Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq arrived Wednesday in Bahrain, to participate in the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, and was received by Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The 46th GCC Summit is set to begin shortly under the chairmanship of King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the participation of GCC leaders or their representatives.
The summit, hosted by Manama, is held under exceptional circumstances that require intensified joint Gulf efforts and unified stances.
Discussions will focus on strengthening Gulf cooperation and integration across political, economic, security, defense, developmental and social fields.
The leaders will also review regional and international developments and their impact on regional security and stability, as well as the efforts underway to reduce tensions, support aid operations, and provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by conflicts. (end) kne.seo
