Dana Gas: production at Khor Mor field back to normal

IRBIL, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- The UAE-based company Dana Gas announced on Wednesday that production at its Khor Mor gas field in Iraq's Kurdistan Region has resumed at normal levels, following a drone-attack earlier this week that caused a temporary shutdown.
According to Dana Gas, the decision to restart came after enhanced security measures were implemented by the regional government and Iraqi federal authorities.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of its employees and facilities - and to supplying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas to support electricity generation across Kurdistan and beyond.
The field had been shut down since the attack late Wednesday - a rocket or drone strike hit a liquid-storage tank, triggering a fire and halting operations, with no reports of casualties, but the outage led to widespread power cuts across Irbil and Sulaymaniyah provinces.
Kurdistan's Electricity Ministry confirmed that gas supply to power stations resumed at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, and authorities expect electricity generation to return to normal levels within 24 hours. (end) sbr.seo
