CAIRO, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdurrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed on Tuesday Kuwait's keenness on enhancing Arab media cooperation and developing strategic partnerships to back integration with Egypt.
In a statement to KUNA after meeting with Egypt's Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Khaled Abdulaziz on the sideline of the Arab media ministers' meeting in Cairo, Al-Mutairi noted that the gathering is an opportunity to discuss horizons of collaboration in varied sectors, in a manner that boosts Kuwait and Egypt's presence on international and regional arenas.
He extolled the SCMR's pivotal role in developing media, citing that collaboration between the two sides shows the deep-seated and firm historic relations, as well as the political leaderships' directives.
Minister Al-Mutairi took part in the 21st meeting of the Executive Bureau of Arab Media Ministers' Council to discuss the 55th session's agenda due on Wednesday, tomorrow.
Chaired by Saudi Media Minister Salman Al-Doussari, the gathering discussed Palestine's issue, the updated version of Arab media ethics and more.
In addition, the conferees dealt with the role of Arab media in combating terror, and the 2030 Arab sustainable development plan. (end)
