KUWAIT, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Supreme tourism committee, in its second meeting, discussed on Wednesday new promotional projects to attract visitors to Kuwait.
Chairing the meeting at Marine Museum at Radisson Blue Hotel, Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said every meeting will be held in a tourist site or places specialized in tourism, Ministry of Information and Culture said in a statement.
This delivers a message that "we are seeking to develop tourism system which needs the partnership of all state's institutions," Al-Mutairi, also head of the committee, noted. He underlined the need for a partnership among all state institutions - government sectors, private sector, or civil society - so that "we can complement one another in proposing ideas, identifying any challenges that can be addressed through our cooperation".
He referred that there would be some steps if there are certain regulations, infrastructure and important opportunities to make success in the tourism sector.
Tourism system is related to all the state's sectors, including health, culture, art, media, environment and others, he said, pointing to global tourism standards which will be applied.
Tourism sector in Kuwait has big potential and wide environment, he said, stressing the importance of private sector in developing this sector.
