Kuwait participates in WIC's annual Charity Bazaar held in Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- The Embassy of Kuwait in Indonesia participated Wednesday, in the 56th International Women's Club (WIC)'s annual Charity Bazaar, held in Jakarta under the patronage and in the presence of Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming's wife Selvi Ananda.
A statement issued by the Embassy of Kuwait indicated that during her tour of the bazaar, Ananda visited the exhibits in the Kuwaiti pavilion, where the Ambassador of Kuwait to Indonesia Khaled Al-Yassin, presented her with a special commemorative gift from the Al-Sadu House.
The statement added that the Kuwaiti pavilion showcased traditional heritage items and some food products manufactured in Kuwait, in addition to displaying models and paintings that reflect Kuwaiti culture and environment.
This participation is part of the Embassy's efforts to engage with the Indonesian community and official bodies and institutions.
WIC's Charity Bazaar in Indonesia is one of the oldest social activities associated with the diplomatic corps and aims to raise funds for local humanitarian and charitable initiatives through the participation of diplomatic missions in displaying heritage and cultural products.
All proceeds from this charity bazaar, which has been held annually for more than five decades, will go to Indonesian charities through WIC. (end) aab.res
