Police station blast in Kashmir kills 9, injures 27

NEW DELHI, Nov 15 (KUNA) -- At least nine people were killed and 27 others were injured in an accidental blast that occuerd on Friday night inside a police station in Srinagar city of Kashmir, according to local media reports.
Police officials were quoted by the Press Trust of India as saying on Saturday that in the wake of an accidental blast inside Nowgam police station, nine people were killed and 27 others injured, mostly connected with investigation of the explosives.
The explosives were brought from Faridabad city in Haryana after confiscating the same from one of the accused from Kashmir in the recent Delhi blast that killed eight people.
So far, nine bodies mostly policemen and forensic officials, have been retrieved from the scene of the explosion and the injured have been admitted to different hospitals in Srinagar. (end) atk.mt
