RIYADH, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- A joint meeting was held on Thursday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Riyadh, bringing together senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the Standing Committee for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and the GCC General Secretariat, under Kuwaiti chairmanship.
Assistant Foreign Minister of Kuwait for GCC Affairs Ambassador Najeeb Abdulrahman Al-Bader, who chaired the meeting, told KUNA, following the conclusion of the session that the meeting discussed ways to activate and develop the role of Gulf institutions, organizations, offices, and bodies within the framework of the vision of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, which represents a strategic approach to advancing joint Gulf action and enhancing its institutional efficiency.
He noted that the meeting's discussions were constructive and produced practical outcomes reflecting the spirit of cooperation and integration among GCC states. They also reinforced governance and transparency, in line with the directives of the foreign ministers during the 165th GCC Ministerial Council session held in Kuwait last September under item (17) of the Saudi King's vision.
Al-Bader explained that participants reviewed a draft regulatory framework for specialized Gulf organizations aimed at strengthening institutional integration, unifying regulations, and promoting governance and transparency.
He added that the initiative, originally proposed by Kuwait, reflects its continued commitment to advancing joint Gulf action within the strategic framework of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' vision.
Ambassador Al-Bader concluded by affirming that GCC member states remain committed to implementing the directives of the Supreme Council toward building a modern and effective Gulf system that fulfills the shared aspirations for unity, integration, and prosperity among the peoples of the GCC.
