Cabinet applauds Amir Representative's speech to World Social Summit

KUWAIT, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- Under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti cabinet convened its weekly meeting on Tuesday at the new T2 terminal of Kuwait International Airport.
The cabinet members extolled the speech delivered by Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahamad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to the Second World Summit for Social Development.
The summit, themed towards comprehensive and sustainable social development, was hosted in Doha last Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sherida Abdullah Saad Al-Maousharji noted in a press release following the cabinet meeting.
Representative of His Highness the Amir stressed the need of enhancing the international efforts and building a responsible partnership to address the present challenges and strengthen security and stability of all communities.
The World Social Summit aimed to recommit to the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and the Program of Action which prepared the ground for social development and paved the way for the United Nations to declare the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Al-Maousharji quoted Representative of His Highness as saying.
The State of Kuwait adopted legislations to strengthen the values of human rights, justice and equitable opportunities, which ensured decent living, proper education, healthcare and housing services for all Kuwaiti citizens.
Kuwait is determined to continue playing trailblazing humanitarian role across the world through Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
Founded in 1961, the Fund provided more than USD nine billion to development projects in 107 countries around the globe, thus materializing Kuwait's humanitarian message, Representative of His Highness pointed out in his speech.

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah appreciated the efforts made by Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mishaan and President of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Sabah as well as heads and staffers of the other government bodies for contributing to the development of the new Kuwait airport project T2.
The cabinet heard a presentation by Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Sabah on the major projects being implemented by the PACA and the aviation safety plan.
The Directorate's efforts led to Kuwait International Airport exceeding the comprehensive security audit benchmark of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in April, Al-Maousharji quoted PACA President as telling the cabinet members.
Kuwait airport's facilities are being developed, in accordance with the world-class standards, along passages leading to terminals at the airport.
On the T2 project, there is coordination among the authority, concerned government bodies and regulatory agents to facilitate implementing the project as planned, Sheikh Humoud noted, reviewing development schemes to modernize the airport's infrastructure.
In addition, the ministers saw another visual presentation by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi on the launch of "Salem", safe, application of digital health services as a platform for both citizens and expats.
The move aims to facilitate e-health services access and medical records, in support to artificial intelligence, taking into consideration integration among different health systems and relevant government bodies, he noted.
The Cabinet further reviewed some topics listed on the agenda, approving and referring them to the competent ministerial committees for study. (end) jy.gb.hm
