Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi and Jordanian King Abdullah II
TOKYO, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi and Jordanian King Abdullah II agreed on Monday that the two countries will further promote bilateral defense cooperation and exchanges based on their agreement signed in 2016, Japan's Defense Ministry said.
During their meeting in Tokyo, Koizumi conveyed his respect for Jordan's significant role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, the ministry said in a press release.
Koizumi also expressed his gratitude for Jordan's support in transporting Japanese nationals overseas in the region by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces in June.
For his part, King Abdullah welcomed the progress in Japan-Jordan defense cooperation and exchanges, saying that his country would remain fully committed to this cooperation, according to the ministry. (end)
