KUWAIT, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Sabah said on Sunday that Kuwait is undergoing continuous legislative development which contributes to improving the country's service and security systems.
Sheikh Fahad made this statement on the sidelines of his attendance at the "Initiatives Forum," held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel under the patronage and in presence of the Governor of Ahmadi and Chairman of the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee, Sheikh Humoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. A number of ministers were also in the attendance.
He stated that the development covers all sectors of the Ministry of Interior, and citizens, residents, and visitors will soon feel its results, affirming that "the best is yet to come."
Sheikh Fahad pointed out that the issuance of Kuwait's entry visa is among the fastest in the world, as it can be obtained within five minutes.
On the cooperation among the interior ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, Sheikh Fahad said that they operate through an integrated system for information exchange and top-level coordination to maintain security and stability of the member states.
He highlighted the joint cooperation in combating the scourge of drug trafficking. Additionally, He highly praised the great support that Kuwait's security sectors receive from His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
He reaffirmed that Kuwait possesses an advanced radar system that covers both its maritime and land borders and has helped prevent large quantities of narcotics from entering the country. (end)
