Kuwait, Iran discuss food safety, industrial cooperation and swapping experts

KUWAIT, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- The 13th edition of the Kuwaiti-Iranian Trade Cooperation Commission concluded on Wednesday after conferees broached swapped food safety.
Minutes of the meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, was endorsed by the Kuwaiti Acting Undersecretary of Commerce and Industry Marwa Aljaidan and the Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Commerce and Minerals, Mohammad Dahlawi. The Iranian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Mohammad Toutounji, attended the session, along with a number of officials from the two sides.
Aljaidan said at the end of the two-day meeting that the talks dealt with cooperation in the sectors of food security and food health in a manner that would attain supply sustainability and enhance safety of the exchanged food supplies between the two countries.
The two sides affirmed necessity of boosting cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields, expanding coordination in the sectors of land, air and marine transports. The discussions, she added, covered cooperation in industries, professional training, expertise exchange related to overhauling human potentials within a joint vision for promoting talents and swapping technical experts.
These talks contributed to laying the basis for a clear process to deepen the cooperation and opening new horizons for joint action between the two countries' public and private sectors, she added.
Moreover, she affirmed the State of Kuwait's keenness on following on the implementation of the accords and lauded the positive spirit and constructive discussions that marked the sessions, depicting the two friendly countries' keenness on elevating the bilateral relations to higher levels for serving the common interests, the acting undersecretary elaborated.
The Kuwaiti-Iranian commission resumed meeting on Tuesday after a 10-year hiatus. (end) aam.rk
