Arab-EU meeting in Brussels emphasizes importance of joint action

BRUSSELS, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- Arab League permanent delegates and ambassadors of the European Union's Political and Security Committee (PSC) stressed on Tuesday the importance of continuing joint Arab-European efforts to address the socio-political-economic and security challenges facing both regions.
This took place during the 10th Arab permanent delegates and the EU's PSC meeting in Brussels under the leadership of the UAE's permanent delegate to the Arab League, Hamad Al-Zaabi, and the Chair of the EU's PSC Delphine Pronk.
During the meeting, both sides discussed issues of mutual priority, the foremost being the Palestinian issue, which participants emphasized remains at the core of the conflict in the region, along with reviewing developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.
They also addressed issues of security in the Red Sea, migration, and refugees, in addition to the Ukrainian crisis and its repercussions on regional and international security.
The meeting affirmed the keenness of both parties to strengthen channels of political and security cooperation at a time of rapid international development. (end) mm.nsa.sas
