KUWAIT, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- Algerian Ambassador to Kuwait, Omar Belhadj, reaffirmed on Monday the "strong and distinct" relations between the two countries, praising the "historical depth" of such ties.
In a gathering held at the Algerian Embassy in Kuwait on the occasion of the country's National Day, Ambassador Belhadj said relations between the two brotherly countries have always been based on mutual respect, shared understanding, and fruitful cooperation in various fields.
He pointed out that the 71st anniversary of the Algerian Revolution coincides this year with the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Kuwait.
The event was attended by Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance, and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, as well as a number of heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Kuwait.
Belhadj explained that cooperation between the two countries has witnessed continuous ministerial activity, most notably the visit of the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army to Kuwait in November 2024 to discuss cooperation in the military field, in addition to the visit of the Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies in December of the same year, and the visits of the Algerian Ministers of the Interior and Finance to Kuwait in February and April 2025, respectively.
He expressed his country's aspiration to hold the next session of the joint committee between the two countries in early 2026, which will contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation and elevating it to higher levels. (end) yt.hb
