TEHRAN, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- Iran said Monday that international inspections are underway at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR).
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei called the inspections routine and necessary, noting the Tehran reactor produces medical isotopes.
On possible US-Iran talks, he said mediators are exchanging messages to narrow differences; however, this does not mean negotiations have begun.
He denied receiving any US message through Oman during Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi's recent visit.
Iran held five rounds of indirect, Oman-mediated contacts with the US over its nuclear program before Israeli occupation strikes in mid-June.
US airstrikes later hit facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan following repeated Israeli occupation attacks, and that Israeli raids on Tehran and other cities were met with Iranian missile strikes on the occupied territories. (end)
