Kuwait's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China Jassem Al-Najem while partaking in International Forum on Energy Transition in Suzhou
BEIJING, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China Jassem Al-Najem stressed the country's commitment to accelerating moving to clean energy and strengthening international collaboration in sustainable energy.
This came in a speech delivered by Al-Najem while partaking in International Forum on Energy Transition in Suzhou organized by China's national energy authority, Kuwait's embassy said in a statement received by KUNA.
Kuwait seeks to make strategic balance between maintaining security and stability of energy supply, and involving effectively in international cooperation system of clean energy, he stated.
He pointed that Kuwait Vision 2035 constitutes the national framework of economic transition and energy through diversifying income and expanding investment in renewable energy fields, including solar and wind energy, and green hydrogen.
He stressed Kuwait's support to international cooperation initiatives like the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the Global Development Initiative which all create an effective framework to develop new partnerships in clean energy and innovation.
Al-Najem noted the Shagaya Renewable Energy Complex project in southwest Kuwait is considered a pioneering national model in the fields of clean technology and energy storage that affirms Kuwait's commitment to clean energy projects and low-carbon green development.
Energy transformation requires collection action and sincere cooperation, he said, voicing Kuwait's readiness to strengthen its partnership with Beijing and friendly countries to build a more sustainable, secure and prosperous future.
The two-day forum includes more than 50 countries and international organizations, along some senior officials, specialists and accredited ambassadors to China. (end)
