RIYADH, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia strongly deplored on Wednesday the Israeli Knesset's endorsement of two bills imposing the occupation's sovereignty over the West Bank and legalizing settlements.
In a statement, Saudi Foreign Ministry stressed full rejection of all expansion and settlement violations adopted by the Israeli occupation.
It stressed the historic rights of Palestinians to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
The statement asked the international community to assume its full responsibility toward implementing these resolutions and putting end to the blatant Israeli violations of Palestinian land and people, and to back the peace path based on the two-state solution in a manner that achieves security and stability in the region.
Earlier today, the Knesset's public authority approved; in initial reading, two bills on annexing the West Bank and imposing sovereignty over Ma'ale Adumim settlement on Jerusalem. (end)
