KUWAIT, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly expressed on Wednesday Kuwait's condemnation of the Israeli Knesset's approval of two bills aiming to impose sovereignty over the West Bank and a settlement.
In a statement, the Ministry said the step is a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Security Council's Resolutions, mainly No. 2234.
Kuwait renewed its call for the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities to halt these illegitimate practices and deter the expansion policies of the occupation that undermine the opportunities of making peace and the two-state solution, according to the statement.
The Ministry underlined Kuwait's unwavering position to back Palestinian brothers and their legitimate rights to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. (end)
