TUNIS, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- The Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC) on Wednesday awarded Kuwait's Ministry of Interior (MoI) two prizes for anti-drugs cooperation at Arab and international levels.
The honors were announced at the 39th Arab Conference of the Heads of Anti-Narcotics Agencies in Tunis, chaired by Chief of Kuwait's General Directorate for Drug Control at MoI, Brigadier General Mohammad Qabazard.
The awards recognize best operational and information sharing cooperation annually among Arab drug control groups.
The agenda covers a proposed annual Arab Anti-Drugs Week, current global drug trends (production, use, smuggling, and countermeasures), and outcomes of Arab and international meetings from 2024-25.
Participants include heads of Arab drug control agencies, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Criminal Information Center for Combating Drugs, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the European Union project against organized crime and terrorism, the EU Drugs Agency (EUDA), and the International Protection Center.
Kuwait's delegation includes Qabazard, Director of the International Drug Control Department, Colonel Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, and First Lieutenant Abdulhadi Al-Attar, an officer in the General Department for Drug Control. (pickup previous) sbm.maa.lr
