President of Kuwait's Supreme Judicial Council and Court of Cassation Dr. Adel Bouresli
KUWAIT, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- President of Kuwait's Supreme Judicial Council and Court of Cassation, Dr. Adel Bouresli, stressed the importance of judicial cooperation among GCC states in enhancing joint Gulf work and advancing the judicial system across the region.
This came during his opening remarks at the 11th periodic meeting of GCC Presidents of Supreme and Cassation Courts, held Wednesday in Kuwait.
Bouresli said that the gathering offers a key platform for narrowing gaps, exchanging ideas, and addressing challenges related to the enforcement of judicial rulings among member states.
Assistant Secretary-General for Legal and Legislative Affairs at the GCC, Advisor Sultan Al-Suwaidi, noted that judicial collaboration is a cornerstone of Gulf integration and a vital tool for upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice.
Al-Suwaidi said the meeting's agenda includes several pioneering initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation, including a unified judicial cooperation policy, an electronic Gulf judicial journal, a digital platform for judicial principles, and an e-book compiling key rulings and new legal precedents.
These initiatives mark a qualitative leap in judicial integration, enrich Gulf legal resources, and promote alignment among member states' legal systems, reinforcing the principle of a unified judicial reference, he added.
