KHARTOUM, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Namaa Charity announced the inauguration of four artesian wells in the Republic of Chad to provide clean water to thousands of families suffering from water scarcity and difficulty in accessing it.
This comes as part of its humanitarian and developmental efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of the most needy communities.
CEO of Namaa Saad Al-Otaibi told KUNA that the flow of water represents a new lifeline for communities that have suffered from thirst for many years.
The project is not limited to drilling wells, but rather embodies a humanitarian mission aimed at preserving human dignity and improving the quality of life in remote areas, Al-Otaibi added.
The project comes in response to the difficult water conditions in Chad, where only 6.2 percent of the population has access to safe water, he added.
Namaa Charity is working in partnership with locally accredited organizations recognized by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of a plan to expand its water projects to include 10 additional villages over the next two years.
This achievement reflects direction of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. (end)
