Islamic labor conference affirms significance of boosting labor skills

DOHA, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- The final communique of the sixth session of the Islamic Labor Ministers Conference on Saturday affirmed importance of projects aimed at boosting skills, building human capitals, strengthening the private sector and elevating the competition capacities in the member states.
The statement applauded a Qatari proposal to cooperate with SESRIC, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (a subsidiary organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation), the Arab Labor Organization and the International Labor Organization to organize training courses.
It affirmed the OIC role for cooperation among the member states to produce a labor force capable of competition and meeting development requirements, called for supporting Palestine in its endeavor to win full membership in ILO and lauded SESRIC's efforts with respect of surveying the labor market regularly.
