CAIRO, Oct 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo on Thursday underlined the depth of Kuwait-Egypt ties, rooted in a shared destiny and tested through wars and hardship.
Embassy Counselor Nawaf Al-Rujaib told KUNA this came during a delegation visit he led to the graves of Kuwait's fallen at the Suez War Memorial Cemetery, marking the 52nd anniversary of the October 1973 victories.
The visit honored soldiers' sacrifices, where Arab blood was shed defending rights and sovereignty, he said, noting Kuwait's significant military and economic contributions.
Al-Rujaib paid tribute to Kuwaiti Army martyrs on the Egyptian front, reaffirming Kuwait's solidarity with Arab states and its consistent support for Arab causes and crisis responses.
He commended Egypt's regional and international role in encouraging security and stability, and its care for the graves of Arab martyrs.
The visit featured honors with a military band playing the martyr's anthem and the recitation of Al-Fatiha (prayer verse) at Kuwait's graves.
The embassy delegation was received by Third Army Chief of Staff Major General Adel Al-Ghuwaid and included Deputy Military Attache Brigadier General Ayedh Al-Helfy. (end)
