Cambodian University chief praises Kuwait's support for education, orphans

By Abdullah Bugis KUALA KANGSAR, Malaysia, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- President of the Cambodian University of Management and Technology (CUMT) Dr. Husen Mohammad Farid lauded Kuwait's long-standing contributions to supporting education and orphan care in Cambodia. He was speaking to KUNA on sidelines of the 2nd International Conference on Teaching Arabic Language and Literature (ICTALL 2025), held at Sultan Azlan Shah University (USAS), Malaysia, from 14-15 October.
Dr. Husen who also serves as an Advisor to the Ministry of Cults and Religion highlighted that Kuwait has contributed to establishment of over 30 orphanage and Islamic education centers across Cambodia, describing them as remarkable humanitarian achievements.
He mentioned the Islamic Heritage Revival Society, affiliated with Kuwait's Ministry of Social Affairs, continues to provide support, scholarships and annual financial aid. He also pointed to additional support from other Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Indonesia, in strengthening Islamic education across Southeast Asia.
The two-day conference discussed key points of Arabic language education in Southeast Asia, featuring institutional experiences, the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching, language immersion, translation, and digital Arabic content development. (end) aab.sar
