GAZA, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- Gaza's health authorities announced on Wednesday that local hospitals received 25 bodies and 35 injured over the past 24 hours, as Israeli occupation bombardments continue across the Strip.
In a statement, the authorities said the casualties included 16 retrieved from under the rubble, one who succumbed to wounds, and eight others killed by Israeli occupation strikes targeting eastern areas of Gaza City and Rafah.
The statement added that since the start of the Israeli occupation aggression on October 7, 2023, a total of 67,938 Palestinians have been killed and 170,169 others injured.
It also reported that 45 unidentified bodies detained by Israeli occupation were handed over but not yet added to the cumulative death toll, while additional remains were delivered to Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis as appeals continue for the International Committee of the Red Cross to help identify and return the bodies to their families.
