CAIRO, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi commended Monday the Gaza ceasefire deal as "closing a painful chapter of humanity" and ushering in a fresh era of peace and stability in the Middle East.
Addressing the peace summit in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, he said, "This historic turning point, in which we have seen the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement to end the war in Gaza, and create a glimmer of hope that it will close a painful chapter in human history and usher in a fresh era of Middle East peace and stability." In this regard, the Egyptian leader thanked the U.S., Turkiye and Qatar for their sincere efforts in the conclusion of the Gaza peace agreement, hoping that this plan would be put in place in a way that creates the congenial political atmosphere for the two-state solution." He added that Cairo and Washington would work with all partners during the coming period to set out an immediate reconstruction plant for the Gaza Strip, pointing out the Cairo Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza in November.
He added that he looks forward to a brighter future for the Middle East region, where all people enjoy peace and decent life within safe frontiers and with protected human rights.
In conclusion, the Egyptian president decided to award the Nile Collar, Egypt's highest state honor, to US President Donald Trump.
Kuwait's delegation to the summit is headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (pickup previous) ism.mt
