Minister of Social Affairs and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah
CAIRO, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Arab Social Affairs Ministers' Executive Bureau began its meeting on Monday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo under Egypt's chairmanship to discuss key social issues, foremost among them supporting social conditions in Palestine.
Kuwait is participating in the meetings with a delegation headed by the Minister of Social Affairs, Family Affairs and Childhood, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah.
The Bureau is reviewing several priority issues related to joint Arab social development, particularly supporting social conditions in Palestine, especially Gaza, amid the ongoing inhumane practices carried out by the Israeli occupation.
The Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs had previously issued multiple resolutions on this matter, while the bureau continues to include Palestinian support as a permanent agenda item, reaffirming its duty toward the Palestinian people.
The Council is also preparing for the Second World Summit for Social Development, scheduled in Doha from November 4 to 6, 2025, under a UN General Assembly resolution, reflecting Arab priorities after the 1995 Copenhagen summit.
Additionally, ministers are preparing for the upcoming Arab Summit in Saudi Arabia in 2026, focusing on social files affecting Arab citizens, persons with disabilities, the elderly, families, and children, aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. (end)
