Kuwait dispatches 19th planeload of relief supplies to Gaza
By: Salman Al-Mutairi KUWAIT, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- The 19th plane carrying relief supplies for Gaza took off from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base on Sunday, flying toward Al-Arish Airport in Egypt, where the cargo will be transported to the Gaza Strip. The aircraft, loaded with 40 tons of food flew as part of "Faaza for Gaza," organized by Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in cooperation with Kuwaiti charitable organizations and in coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, represented by the Kuwait Air Force.
KRCS's Chairman Khaled Al-Maqamis told KUNA upon the plane departure that the society continues its efforts to meet the basic food needs of Palestinians in Gaza, working closely with government bodies to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid through the air bridge in line with the country's leadership directives. Al-Maqamis stressed that the continuation of the Kuwaiti air bridge reflects Kuwait's steadfast humanitarian stance in support of the Palestinian people, noting that more flights will follow to deliver additional food aid in coordination with Kuwait's Embassy in Egypt and the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) to ensure aid reaches the Strip.
He reaffirmed that the KRCS, in cooperation with official entities and Kuwaiti charities, will continue operating further flights as part of the air bridge, a symbol of Kuwait's unified humanitarian and charitable response, underscoring its regional and global role in relief and humanitarian work.
The society has so far organized 19 flights -- four to Jordan and 15 to Egypt -- delivering a total of 400 tons of long-shelf-life food supplies produced locally in coordination with the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company. (KFMB) (end) slm.sar
