Kuwait PM presides over meeting following up on agreements with China

KUWAIT, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah headed on Thursday the 30th meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with implementing agreements signed between the State of Kuwait and the People's Republic of China.
The meeting provided visual and detailed updates from several government entities regarding the agreements including the first phase of the environmental protection and anti-desertification, and sand creeping project north of Kuwait, the initial steps for the sewer treatment project, the third and fourth phases of the Al-Abdaliya and Al-Shagaya renewable energy project, in addition to the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, which would kick-start its initial phase at the end of the technical and constructional studies next month.
His Highness the Prime Minister called on the ministerial committee to continue following up on the agreements, making sure that they were implemented to the fullest and during the agreed-upon time slot.
Assistant Minister for Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Hayat affirmed that coordination was continuing to achieve the economic growth sought by Kuwait through cooperation with Chinese governmental companies tasked with the project according to agree upon schedules.
He indicated that weekly reports were delivered to the ministerial committee to review and brief the top authorities to usher in the projects, which are part of Kuwait's Vision 2035.
Present at the meeting were Chief of His Highness the Prime Minister Diwan Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, Minister of Defense Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Meshari, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Dr. Sheikh Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Fatwa and Legislation, Counselor Salah Al-Majed, and Assistant Minister for Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Hayat.
