Kuwait sends 17th flight with 40 tons of aid to Gaza

By Salman Al-Mutairi KUWAIT, Oct 7 (KUNA) -- The 17th relief aircraft in Kuwait's second air bridge departed on Tuesday from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base to Egypt's Al-Arish International Airport, carrying 40 tons of food aid bound for Gaza under the "Kuwait is by Your Side" campaign.
The flight is part of the "Fazaa for Gaza" initiative organized by Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), in cooperation with Kuwaiti charities and in coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Defense, represented by the Kuwait Air Force.
Speaking to KUNA before takeoff, KRCS Secretary-General and flight escort Fahad Al-Mandeel said that the continued air bridge reflects Kuwait's deep-rooted humanitarian values and solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
He stressed that the aid flights serve as a lifeline for the people of Gaza amid ongoing hardships, and affirmed that KRCS will continue sending relief flights.
Al-Mandeel expressed gratitude to the participating Kuwaiti charities, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Egypt, and the Egyptian Red Crescent for facilitating aid delivery through Al-Arish Airport.
To date, the second Kuwaiti airbridge has delivered 350 tons of essential, long-life food supplies to Gaza, prepared in coordination with the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company. (end) slm.seo
