Kuwait, France discuss boosting energy coop.

KUWAIT, Oct 1 (KUNA|) -- Enhancing collaboration in water and energy projects topped the meeting held on Wednesday between Kuwait's Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, and French Ambassador to Kuwait Olivier Gauvin.
During the meeting, both sides also reviewed bilateral relations, mainly in the investment, infrastructure and energy fields, according to a ministry press release.
Gauvin affirmed French companies' interest in expanding participation in Kuwait's market, referring to his country's experience in renewable energy and waste-to-energy strategy, it added.
Al-Mukhaizeem, also Acting Finance Minister and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs, reviewed the major projects on which Kuwait is working like Shagaya Renewable Energy Project and Al-Nuwaiseeb power plant.
He affirmed Kuwait is open to foreign investments and offering facilitations to investors through the public-private partnership system, it noted.
Both sides further focused on means of boosting energy security in the region and the importance of electricity and water grid with neighbors, along Kuwait's plans for water treatment and services for new cities. (end) fr.hm
