BAGHDAD, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Foreign Ministry welcomed Wednesday US President Donald Trump's initiative aimed at ending the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry praised the initiative's proposals, which include halting hostilities, reconstructing Gaza Strip, preventing the displacement of the Palestinian people, and opposing any annexation of the West Bank.
The ministry expressed hope that these proposals would help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, ensuring the delivery of adequate humanitarian aid without restrictions, and preventing any attempts to forcibly displace residents.
Last Monday, the White House disclosed details of Trump's plan to end the war, including the immediate release of Israeli occupation prisoners, cessation of military operations in Gaza, withdrawal of occupation forces, and future administrative arrangements without displacing Gaza's population.
