BEIRUT, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- The Board of Trsutees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency on Thursday held diScussions on future projects and programs that serve the member states.
The 27th meeting at this level was chaired by the head of the board, director of the renewable energy and energy efficiency at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Ahmad Al-Dosari. It was organized on the fringes of the Beirut Energy Week 2025 that kicked off on Wednesday.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Dosari said he and his peers discussed the center's projects, support for the member states and other countries that had suffered consecutive crises. He indicated at the center's vital role in recovering countries namely Syria and Iraq, in addition to the occupied Palestinian territories.
The center's basic goal is boosting the renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Arab region and for this sake it has been launching projects of promising partnerships with the European Union and the Union for the Mediterranean and the UN Development Program.
He affirmed its role in boosting capacities of personnel and technicians in the member states through courses, workshops and know-how swap.
"Our presence in Beirut is intended to demonstrate support for Lebanon that has begun to recover namely support for its efforts in the energy projects," he said alluding to a declaration earier by the Lebanese Minister of Eenergy Joseph Al-Saddi of the National Plan for Renewable Energy in Lebanon for 2025-2030.
