Minister (Social Affairs): Protecting rights of persons with disabilities a firm commitment

KUWAIT, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila affirmed on Thursday that protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and addressing their needs is a fundamental commitment, stressing ongoing efforts to remove challenges they face and ensure their integration across all fields of life.
This came in a press statement following her meeting with a group of persons with disabilities, during which she listened to their observations and proposals on improving the services provided and developing initiatives that support their needs.
She added that the government is keen to strengthen programs and initiatives dedicated to persons with disabilities, stemming from its belief in their active role in society and their contribution to the development process. (end) oys
